7 Ways to Return to Reality After Vacation
Let's be honest. We ALL have been here before. Post-vacation blues is very real. So, how do we overcome it and come back to work stronger than ever?
Appreciate
You were able to take a lot of time off! Don't let what you missed overwhelm you. You deserved that personal time and shouldn't feel guilty about it. Think back on your vacation and let the memories lift your mood.
Accept that you won't be caught up immediately
Don't try to get everything done all at once! Take a minute to set up your day and make reasonable expectations and plans. Your stress is just going to come back if you put too much pressure on yourself. Focus on the time-sensitive issues that need attention first.
Catch up with friends and co-workers
It's always exciting to tell someone else about your travels. Chances are your co-workers missed seeing you and will be interested in hearing about your experience. Make the time to catch up with them.
Make a to-do list
Make a list of tasks you need to complete before you get to work. It'll save you a lot of time if you think about your responsibilities ahead of time. This list will keep you on track and help you meet your goals!
Plan something fun after your first day back
You may not be able to lay on the beach, but doing something special and out of the ordinary will get your mind to relax after a long day at work.
Start thinking about your next vacation
Nothing's wrong with planning ahead, right?
Work out
If you enjoy exercise, this is a great way to prepare your mind and body for the rest of the week back.
Don't let this be you again!
